Confirmed Lineups
India will aim to seal a 2-0 series victory over the West Indies as they face off in the second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from October 10 to 14. Led by Shubman Gill, the hosts dominated the opening Test, winning by an innings and 140 runs.
It was a near-perfect outing for the Indian team — KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja all scored centuries, while Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav impressed with the ball.
Following such a comprehensive win, the team management is expected to retain the same playing XI for the Delhi Test. The only concern remains Sai Sudharsan’s form, as the young batter was dismissed for just 7 (19) in the first match. However, assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate confirmed that Sudharsan continues to enjoy full backing from the management and will be given another opportunity.
Washington Sundar, who made a modest contribution of 9* (13) with the bat and picked up two wickets, is also set to keep his place.
The only potential change could come in the pace department, with the management considering resting either Bumrah or Siraj ahead of the upcoming South Africa series in November. If that happens, Prasidh Krishna might get his first chance to bowl on home soil.
India’s predicted XI:
Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Ravindra Jadeja (vc), Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah/Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj.
